Bitter Innocence

Contributed by poet17 on Tuesday, 9th October 2012 @ 10:18:34 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

The innocence of a child in winter’s tears,
Making angels on the ground, not a care in her mind…
Her red rose cheeks, her watery eyes and her runny nose are all symptoms of her inner anguish…
As the snow continues to fall, it is like rocks that fall upon her fragile head…

She’s too young to look for healing,
So her mother comforts her with Hot Chocolate as to hide the truth from her,
Her mother gave her an artificial Band-Aid subject to fail at its job, and she still ends up broken…
She lives in prolonged darkness and was never exposed to the sun…

It was about the midnight hour of Christmas Eve with the Christmas stockings set up with all its lights with bright colors and fake presents under the Christmas tree…
Her father had come home in a crazed state of mind!
As he entered the house, all was fatally quiet and deathly still but their dog in the backyard wouldn’t stop crying…
Her father ran up the stairs screaming and banging the walls consumed with anger…

He stands in the hallway of the girl’s room and she knew she was in trouble….
So she prayed and begged and cried out to God for Him to listen…
“Where are you God? Please save me now!”

“Life is like being on stage but the curtain closes on you…”

In this case before the father could even break through the door,
God took her and she was delivered in a moment of time…
It is in the moments when we feel like God isn’t there, that we should kneel at His throne and clasp our hands…

Such a vivid scene played out here with your words. I have tears in my eyes. Another one I felt, nicely written.
