ancient is my enemy

war

Ancient is my enemy,
yet tire does he not;
the victory of today, is,
the morrow's battle sought.
And when the strife is over,
however bravely fought;
we rest, although at best,
in endless conflict caught.

Ironically decisive and pointed in expressing the endless conflict and the realisation that when one war ends another one is started.Effective and although sad in it's conclusion powerfully expressive. |
