Me in Poetry

Me in Poetry

Living a sad existence of my own devising
all ways falling never rising
alone at summers end
and again as it returns acting as an old friend
this is my way this is what I am
first forced now embraced sad alone
without a true home and certainly without a plan
if I had been a coward of a man
a knife and a slow bleed
would rise to my mind again
but withholding the urge
embracing the life I lead
with enough pain to secede
to a lesser being
to a beast whom is yet in the dreaming
ready to awaken screaming
thus bursting into being
screaming
oh screaming
now knowing the pain of being
and seeing knowing now all things
death for a moment
holding to you for a life time
this feeling holding you back
causing screaming
and provoking darker dreaming
give me kind nepenthe
let me rest in
my bed gently
from this hell
that I alone
have sent me
my own worst enemy
my only friend
it all comes down to me
again

Whoa there is definitely a sense of doom or earthly damnation! Quite powerful indeed and thought provoking this is. I commend you for your manipulation of pathos and expression of your emotions,
Deidra

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
