Cherishing Time

Contributed by waynster on Wednesday, 26th September 2012 @ 06:27:43 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

Time
impossible to just stand still
To pause for a moment
to enjoy a momentary thrill

Moments in our daily lives
here and gone in a blink of an eye
I see no reason
for anyone to grow up being shy

Grasp what life has to offer
it passes us by so fast
Every second of time
is here then its past

We often find ourselves
looking back in time
Thinking of so many things we did
or how we spent our last dime

The essence of time
we certainly disregard
Not even knowing our destiny
not thinking that the future will be so hard

If only time could be stopped
allowing people to reflect
Maybe then
moments in time we would never neglect

We know a moment is here
then it is quickly gone away
Father time
only brings us another day

Cherish all what you have
because today and tomorrow will soon be next year
Relish love and freedom
and everyone around you that is so dear

Very true indeed, and it's only as you get older that it all makes sense. Beautifully written!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
