A World Devided

Contributed by thehotshotpoet on Saturday, 22nd September 2012 @ 08:09:02 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

I read in the paper again today
another life has been taken away
by a country that thrives only by war
never stopping to think what the fighting is for

they'de kill there brother for one wrong word
it's so out of hand & so ubsurd
they attack the innocent with no means to fight
an obstruction of justice & humanities rights

to show there power & never take slaves
they bury them all in giant mass graves
woman & children & all parents are killed
in a simple days slaughter the graves are filled

what would America do if our Religions collide
we'de have no hope in our so called pride
our 10 commandments would be words on a page
what we've learned to love would turn to rage

I pray to god that we never see
those deadly differences between you & me
we have the same god & he lives up above
he gives us compassion & a world of love

he does not condem for words that are spoken
he makes us believe in a promise unbroken
he created us equal at least in his eye's
without curruption & a world of lies

he gave us strength to live & love
what he wanted our lives to simply be of
but the killing & Raping & the abuse of a child
this world has gone crazy it's simply gone wild

to get back to basics & follow his plan
it's out of control I dont think we can
but I do believe in this beautiful land
to stand up for beliefs it takes more than one man

it takes a country united for all
to make a difference to stand up or fall
the ability is ours so seems the plan
the American nation should proudly stand

if my words offend any that Read
well a garden wont grow without any seed
it takes all kinds for our lives to grow
but it's just my opinion just so you know

You supply reality as well as the mirage. All the guilt feeling by innocents on every side. A mirage or is it devolution? History missed, myth misrepresented, can't even start to say one was lost and now they are found. It's tortured greed, chaotic totalitarianism, religious orthodoxy that is unbending beyond belief. Ugly, worthless War. And what is it good for? Absolutely Nothing!

I thank you for saying this.

Peace!

You did it again, thehotshotpoet. You moved me with your poem. I can literally hear the sorrow in each word. Your right that our world is so fixated on war and greed. But I like to think there are plenty of wise humans that balance it out. Take your bow, because this is one to remember.
