Sleep Needs To Come

Contributed by drogedarain on Sunday, 16th September 2012 @ 08:29:13 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Oh sleep, where are you when I need you
The most...
You're as illusive as Sasquatch...
I try to count those noisy little sheep....
All they do is make me want to scream...
Don't know why I bother, they remind
Me of the sheeple jumping into the
brainwashing cesspool of governmental
deceit...
What can I do to make slumber come...
This has become a rather bothersome
Nightly conundrum....
Tossing and turning no paradoxical sleep
For me...
Mind won't stop turning to much thinking
Going on for me to catch some Z's...
Three a.m. and all is not well...
Sleep is needed and I'm writing like hell on my
Not so smart phone, eyes watering and all Is a blur...
Doing good to make out a single word....
Going to close now, wish me luck, I think I'll try
Counting alligators or even some ducks....
Closing my eyes, have another date with the back
Of my eyelids, surely hope this one is better than
All the rest...

Oh, hthe world of insomnia, I know you well. I like the way you captured how it feels to wish for sleep, but never have it granted. You brought it to light quite well. Tho, I've decided sleep is highly overrated. Great write. Thank you for sharing, P

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
