A Tree Of Your Choosing

Contributed by norm on Sunday, 11th May 2003 @ 02:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

Some of you think that the suicide tree
bears the fruit of a cure in some measure
That there's magic in death
That pursuit of that death
Will bring you fulfillment and pleasure

How thoughtless indeed to ruin the seed
Where the lives that within you reside,
How you rob from the world
What they need in the world
Where your theoretical children abide.

If they'd rather not live and they can forgive
You robbing their 'chance of a lifetime',
How mean-spirited that is,
How lean spirited that is
Stealing from some husband or wife..time.

I'm done sermonizing. It's you realizing
A founder of generations you'd be,
You might make a genius,
we could all use a genius
to nourish a family tree.

They might be:
a doctor, a proctor,
inventor or mentor,
a player or mayor,
a hesitent president,
could be, you see.

So let your progeny be, you see.
Stay away from the suicide tree.

I cannot abide the suicide clan
who write at great length
about ending life's span
especially the gory who want to cut veins
their seldom successfull
for all of their pains
do they want to die?, I very much doubt it
they wan't to be here to tell us about it.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
