Riding upon drifting waves,
forever more the current's slave,
Forced to push...taught not to pull,
the tide will crush... you cannot fold,
gripped by strings the eye can't see,
with only stone to set you free,
you will hear a distant sound,
just a whisper... yet profound,
of freedom from the whispered lie,
the truth and love you've been denied,
cold and lifeless... your display,
such a bleakness... harsh and gray,
and yet within the deepest stone...
I can see... your heart still roams,
what cause... what hate... what cold remorse,
has made you want to take this course,
oh sad confusion... cold disdain,
If only I could melt your pain,
Thick rope they tie... around your neck,
and the only freedom... is in death.

That is so damn sad. :( Admittedly makes one curious what she is going through and obviously none of our business but I can definitely relate to the desire to melt someone's pain away. Great words from a compassionate poet. |
