I am
A girl who understands her true value,
And cannot look away when others are in need.
I wonder
If I’ll ever see old and missing faces
Who happen to be attached to me only by a pair of strings.
I hear
The calls that beckon me to
“Move, move, move”
When I can’t stop looking back.
I see
The light prancing in the dark,
That in a way reminds me
Of a familiar snow white deer against a murky background
That cannot outclass it’s brilliance.
I want
To see what I can be,
What I can become,
Should I the time ever come when
I must follow through and lead.
I am Brenda.
I pretend
I am saving a world,
Or a life everyday,
Because I can't do that in reality.
I feel
My aspects come together
Whenever I am alone,
Each and every one trying to dominate
And stay alive within me.
I touch
The translucent pieces of my remaining apathy,
Hoping that they won’t ever go away.
I worry
About my brother,
Whether or not he’ll find his “one and only”
And manage to keep them.
I cry
Over any and some aspects
Of all that is morbid and dark,
Especially those close to my heart.
I am Brenda.
I understand
Everything in life is a double-edged sword,
Tangible or not.
I say
I don’t want to lie,
But sometimes
There are truths that mustn’t be
Spoken or uncovered.
I dream
Of seeing blue,
Sky and ocean and the clouds in between.
I try
To catch some sleep,
For fear I may never regain my mind again.
I hope
To truly achieve what I wish to achieve,
Because then I’d always be a quitter otherwise.
I am Brenda.
