The creator's delimma

Contributed by norm on Saturday, 10th May 2003 @ 06:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

If the poetry of a poet
is a mirror on the world
If you look into the mirror
and life's facts become unfurled.

If a painting by an artist
is digested by the eye,
If digestion of the painting
is an artist's do or die.

If the writings of an author
are the prose that make a story,
If the story using prose is used
to rate the author's glory.

If a fifth stays unresolved
Your ear will surely twitch with hate
Til the balance of the theme is solved
The music won't relate.

So the poem above is lacking
In the field of resolution,
Let's make the closure resonate
To bypass revolution.

The poet shines his mirror
and the facts are in their place
The artist eyes his painting
and there's nothing else to face.

The author reads his writings
and feels well about his plot,
Therefore, all seems well for closing
Like it yea or like it not.

Oh I lked it well enough
but the subject's rather tough
and very introspective
to a genuine detective
of artistic evocation
I've not the slightest hesitation
in proffessing honest doubt
what the hell this is about

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
