A lack of Respect

Contributed by thehotshotpoet on Saturday, 18th August 2012 @ 08:35:43 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

I do not like being kursed at
to this there is no doupt
it only takes one time
one click & you are out

I dont pretend to know it all
but this is what I mean
the words you choose to type to me
as my son looks at the screen

he says dad why did that person say that
because those words are not okay
I just say son I do not know
I guess there having a bad day

but knowing in my mind
it really was not right
I dont allow the words you choose
on any day or night

my life is about my children
all my friends know it's a fact
everyone I know gets *****y
but we mind the way we act

I'm always around my children
& I'll defend with all I've got
so to tolerate profanity
is something I do not

a little button called ignore
I push it pretty fast
I do not care who you are
I'll put you in my past

I require a certain respect
& now you just might see
you can talk that way to anyone
but it will not be to me
the hot shot poet

Sounds as though parsing through poems, your son who is young and a quick reader, read something some angry person wrote.
A lack of respect is all over the tube, I remember a reporter in Iraq throwing a shoe at GWB and it was filmed, and he meant by his action, a lack of respect just so people would maybe know. There's a difference in context, I think adults should have learned about. Being responsible for your actions.
Bad words, something you can't explain to a child, or shouldn't ever have to, shouldn't be known as polarizing.
They should instead be consciously avoided. Especially when you're online typing to who knows who...

Thanks --- great point in this electronic messaging age.

I'm real, but I would never try to offend. Hope it wasn't me.

Peace!

People say and do things in this crazy life that no one may Ever like. That's the beauty of deleting and ignoring buttons
We simply do what we feel is in the best interest of our families and ourselves. And life goes on, no matter what we decide to do. People come and people go, it's human nature

Mu advice is push the button if you feel so strongly
Excellent write, enjoyed reading it
