"Feet Hanging Off the Ledge"
Feet hanging off the ledge
I've lost the battle, lost the war
What is there worth fighting for?
Cliche lines and worn out rhymes
Are all that I've got left this time
I've lost myself, lost the world
I've lost my strength, lost the girl
Everytime she looked at me
her eyes spoke perfect poetry
Feet hanging off the ledge
I never finished school
I've never had a wife
Just a dead end job
with a dead end life
I think about the things I haven't got
I think about all the things I've lost
Feet hanging off the ledge
Breathe in, breathe out
Tell myself to not think about
Breathe out, breathe in
Darkness is creeping in again
Feet hanging off the ledge
Just a little push
And it won't take long
Feet hanging off the ledge

tight, well structured, subtle rhyming and cadence, and intense subject matter make this a great poem all round. if its this good on the ledge, what's it like on Terra Firma?
