my babies are gone

Contributed by desire on Friday, 10th August 2012 @ 01:22:46 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

My babies are gone and I don't know what to say
I have to figure out something i have to find a way
To bring them back because my heart aches so
I underestimated what they meant to me and now I know
Something in me said to take care of them, find them a better home
Because here I sit with them all gone
I knew better to leave them as I did
I just felt that they would be safe, that they would be hid
I can't believe that my babies will be lost to me
I hope that's not how it turns out to be
I gave birth to those babies I endured both joy and pain
My poor babies they help keep me sane
They helped me through the highs and lows of my life you see
Because without them I wouldn't be free
You see they are everything to mel
Everything I was, everything I am, and everything I hope to be
They are my POEMS my BABIES

Interesting poem about a truly
tragic idea, to lose all the words one has bled
and sweated to write. I don't know what I would
do if I lost mine. I began writing this stuff
before computers and have always kept hard copies.
One with my daughter 800 miles away. and of
course back up the digital about 3 different places.
I keep all of it on a usb stick on my car keys also.

Take care
Richard

Sorry to hear about this. That's horrible. Hopefully it's just the screen and the files are intact.

Take care,

Tim

I think I understand completely what you mean. Anyone who writes at any age or intellect surely must.
It's a legend, a personal one, that's why one takes the time.
Surely they all are, an impulse, surely any thought is. But a treasured one, a virtuous one, even something you no longer proscribe to believe as much. It's an individual voice, your own, just as important to your soul as life is singular to you.
At least you had them once, no consolation whatsoever will suffice, except to say, I've been there too. BTW --- your poem helped me to a large degree for what its worth to U.

Peace!

This passage is rife with passion and sincerity.
It's admirable that you feel so deeply -
about something many take for granted,
i.e your personal freedom. Well composed.

i completely identify, once i was in a mood and
deleted mine into the virtual poetic wind, turns
out it made me stronger; those things you write
of live inside you and are never really lost...

hugs n' love nessa
