Renaissance Of The Mind

Contributed by puppy_dog_eyes on Friday, 3rd August 2012 @ 09:09:06 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Through the haze of all condemning thoughts, everything becomes clear
Positive self, so long padlocked in the casket of doubt
Opens the lid and crawls out, to look upon the new world
Realising the prison never really had a key to seal

The mind tricks, invites us to swim in warm waters of fear and apprehension
Where we linger and wallow, bathing in the negative
Too easy to submerge into the abyss of cloaked judgement
And be drowned by misgivings that pull us down

Accustomed eyes choose distorted images that shadow out the truth
Habitual thinking courses through regret silted veins
Hostile perception afflicts, gnawing like established disease
Rotting all the open wounds, eating away reason

Wide awake now, startled into positive by long silenced voice
Re-appointed Governor shouts the call and takes the reins
Forget mistaken yesterdays, we never will reclaim
Tomorrow is a starting out, Renaissance of the mind.

With heavy hearts and broken smiles,
and witty comments full of guile,

people often fail to see,
the beauty in a blossomed tree,

and when you choose to look around,
you'll find a world that is profound.

hahaha :)

the world truly is profound and beautiful. Even our own creations and our society is beautiful. Sometimes I stand in awe in a city and think... we built this.

A richly worded dedication to the common sense of being your own best friend, and not your worst enemy.

the writer and satirist Douglas Adams (passed on now) once wrote that such awareness is like a person thinking they were blind for most of their life, only to discover that they were instead wearing a very large hat. It's an easy epiphany, once you overcome the struggle to get there.

Great poem ad great message. So needed now-a-day.
The mind is clay, and must be refreshed patiently nurtured while going forward
"This is the Day that the ord has made" No looking back while at the plough
Blessings
Elizabeth
