From the depths of my heart I love you,
and you knew that the bell would toll;
that I'd hear my name when the angel came,
and you cried for my tortured soul.
My darlings, how gracious is bounty;
what jewels it bestowed upon me.
But temptations thrived so the spirit died
and my tears a forsaken plea.
You're the treasure of all my days,
you're the gifts and the joy from living.
You're the laurels I weave
you're the breath that I breathe
in the garden of Truth and Forgiving.
