Blood hormones and chemistry, and yet we talk about choice?
Do I choose the many spectrums of feelings or did Nature never
Intend a choice . Her desires are not those of human manipulated
Rules, and neither does she guide us away from the impulses
That may keep us free from harm.
For she is life’s lighthouse, drawing us into life sustaining waters, that
May without care and attention dash us against the rocks, but does she
Shed one tear for our demise? Or would we ever see her tears amongst the
Raging salty waters? An energy! A force does not see the smiles nor count
The tears,
But with might beyond our imagination smashes through our weak
Defences learned of a second, in comparison to her millions of evolutionary years!
For in her reign we are created and devoured. It is with her permission that we are
Still allowed breath, and kingdoms may rise and kingdoms may fall for now, but still
Coins lay scattered on the beds of oceans, and kingdoms remain buried under centuries
Of sand.
She is not all harshness, as her softness delights us when she whispers across
Faces on warm summers' days, or sends babbling streams to soothe the storms of the soul.
And she is not a complete stranger when we connect to the many moods of her storm,
But oh does she demands our respect when she shakes the earth,
With quakes and fire then what are we in her shadow?

Man's relationship to nature
great subject and write
reminds me of Shelley's
"Ozymandias" in a way,
at least I thought of that poem
immediately upon reading this.
Excellent job

Sounds like a woman. ;-) I suppose that's why the analogy is that of a woman and it's not "Father Nature". heeheehee (love laughing at my own jokes).
Anyway, yes, I can see the metaphor. Great as usual, my dear Anna.
Especially loved this part:
She is not all harshness, as her softness delights us when she whispers across
Faces on warm summers' days, or sends babbling streams to soothe the storms of the soul. |

This is very lovely. It certainly gives expression to the duality of Nature.
Cheers,
Mickey. |

Hi Anna,
If we break her rules, God help us! I think
we are already seeing the results of that.
Ocean floor and deep underground atomic
bomb testing over decades - cause and effect,
eventually. Over 150 years of heavy industry
polluting the earth and skies - cause and
effect. I could go on .......
A beautiful piece of poetry and the message
is loud and clear!

Powerful stuff.
Really liked the line
"kingdoms remain buried under centuries
Of sand".
It reminded me that despite man's intent to control everything in the world, it is actually the world and nature that ultimately control man.
Another great write
