Deadly Opposition

Breaking through these walls of stone,
a prisoner... falling down,
I'll dive into the deepest black,
and wear it like a crown,
don't push me off a jagged cliff,
or throw me in the sea,
I will return with hurricanes,
and laugh at all your pleas,
Just try to stop this patient man,
and watch all hell break free,
I'll wait until the moment comes,
to bring you to your knees,
just when you think I'm down for good,
I'll crush your life with ease.
With swiftness and a bold derision,
I'll crush all foes and competition,
I'll grind your tears into the dust,
and destroy all the things you trust,
I'll rip you up and tear you down,
and cast your shadow on the ground,
I'll make it shriek and beg to leave,
there is no hope... no last reprieve,
Even darkness fears the night,
a force of will ... that none can't fight,
Scream for me... you heartless wretch,
Beg for life... with your last breath.

Know why I love this poem? Because this is simply outlining the one thing that I understand more than anything, and something I've wanted my entire life - revenge. You must know exactly how I feel if you were able to write such disastrous beauty :) |

Truly potent, full of intent - not just threats. To capture such emotion is one thing,... but to convey so fluidly! I can say without pause, that this is a fine piece of work.

With the first four lines you caught me with the pure vindictiveness and offended pride. The emotion in this is so real, that it is simply awe-inspiring. Great poem, and great job :-) |
