3000 Miles

Contributed by malinsinbigler on Friday, 13th July 2012 @ 05:14:34 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

One blanket and a cold dark night
No one there to hold you tight

The covers strangle you as you try to escape
The lonely thoughts as you realize your fate

Far away, far apart
I知 here with a broken heart

3000 miles, and only 3 days away
I値l find my way back, I値l be there to stay

I値l find you there, on that bed
Swimming in blankets, full of dread

It won稚 last, not for long
It will fade away with the passing of dawn

3000 miles, 3 days away
I知 coming home, I知 there to stay

Well they do say absence makes the heart grow fonder.
The good thing about someone being away is the moment they walk back through that door :)

Don't forget she was on the bed with your smelly gross hoodie. How come all your best work is when your fiancee is either far away or with you?

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ツゥ
