With broken bone and rendered arm I walk among the sand,
and as i watch my brothers die, while reaching for my hand,
i bring myself to a better place, a fortress in my mind,
where lovers never fall apart, and friends will never die,
And as i walk in pools of blood, escaping all the pain,
I think about a sweeping plain, with signs of coming rain,
and when my eyes return to death, and sadness without end,
I walk with steps that don't exist... a reality that bends.

This is a great write. I however think that the reality that bends or that fortress in your mind just may be your own heaven.
Thanks,
