The Helm

Contributed by theeman on Tuesday, 10th July 2012 @ 07:14:21 AM in AEST
Topic: mystical

There he sat on his court, he sat there on the highest throne.
Made with gold , precious gems , ivory and bone.
He looked at his court with a weary smile.
Who was friend, who a foe, he didn't know all the while.
His country spawn, from his spiral view.
Towards mountains far, that he never knew.
When the king was done with his daily chores.
He went to sleep and closed his bedroom doors.
He looked at the ceiling, which was carved in beautiful stone.
He looked at the carvings, such detail was unknown,
To the world that lived beyond his palatial realm.
His crown was majestic, such a suitable helm.

The Sheppard sat on the mountain of stone
Gazing at the city were he was once born
He looked at his flock, with a loving smile
All he loved was there by his side
The country spawn below the mountains view
Towards the palace, he once knew.
When the sun set, with the birds singing in a chorus
He laid down on soft cool grass in the forest
He looked at the world above him were stars shone
To worlds and galaxies and ages unknown
to him they were old friends he knew from his helm
His eye open to the once known, unknown realm.
