And Death?

Contributed by northernlights on Saturday, 30th June 2012 @ 03:42:21 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I lived my day today in insecurity,
And death smiled for he was there to take my tomorrow.

I lived my day today in fear.
And death sneered for he was there to provide the certainty.

I lived my day today in tears,
And death wiped away my future.

I lived my day today in regret,
And death thumbed through the empty pages.

I lived my day today in anger,
And death watched the peace drain from the next generation.

I lived my day today in violence,
And death rejoiced at the birth of revenge.

I lived my day today in full,
And death?

Remarkable poem- yes Death would do that to us if we permit Him to do so.

Never permit Him that Past, Present and Futre belong to the Master of all of our times alone. not to the Usurper.
Great poem
Blessings
Elizabeth

I like it because it is so morbid. My type of writing.

Meaningful and true.

Hi Anna,

''Death! Where is thy sting?''

Old Shakeyspeare gave it no kudos, but he
died just the same.

Death and taxes, death and taxes - are there
no other certainties?? Just have to keep on
living and looking.

A fine intuitive piece, Anna - one of your
trademarks.

Tommy
