DIVIDED SOULS

Contributed by waynster on Thursday, 28th June 2012 @ 02:00:44 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I am here
you are there.
Our souls trapped
in our selfish bodies, is this fair?

In this essence
of time that we share.
We wanted to be together
but we seem to go nowhere.

I once loved you
wanting to give my life for you.
Then I eventually realized
the same, you wouldn’t do.

My soul thought it found a mate
referring to the soul inside of you.
Your soul searches for something different
and bounded by everything you do
.
You may have a sort of love for me
knowing something else is what you seek.
From inside to our souls
their futures are so bleak.

I don’t know if it is fair,
this charade our bodies play.
I only know our souls
grow weaker every day.

Having coming to this same sad conclusion in my own life I can relate well to this great poem.

Those last couple of lines...very dark and sad. :(

Thank you for posting,

Tim

What anguish and sadness you must have been in to write such a beautiful poem from the heart.
It was very well written and such beautiful words. Take care my Friend.
