Never Alone

I cannot sleep.
I lay in bed holding a silent lonely vigil.
My eyes scan the room for anything that
will give me relief.
Nothing stands out.
I am on my own.
I call out to my my angels.
They surround me.
I ask what must I learn from this?
They don't answer apart to tell me
that this is my quest.
God has chosen many in the past,
now he calls you.
He doesn't ask you to do this alone.
Never alone.
They tell me, first you must learn to
live, forgive and be happy.
Never alone.
For our Lord said " I will be with you, yes
till the end of time".
They fade from my sight but I feel their
presence.
Never alone.
I close my eyes, I dream.
I awake to see the dawn.
Is this a new dawn for me?
I can't be sure but still I feel their presence
Surely, I am not alone.
As hope rises, fear diminshes.
Please God, let this be the last time.

| Well...Usually I stay up late because I don't wanna go to sleep because then I get nightmares. I don't really have anybody, so I depend on myself. Though...what makes me keep going is the thought that if I keep going, I'll eventually find someone worthwhile my time to scare the nightmares away. |
