Decision?

Contributed by Action567 on Monday, 25th June 2012 @ 04:39:25 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

I sit all alone in the dark
As the time slowly ticks away
Wondering how I am
Going to get thru this day

I know the night is almost over
And dawn is drawing near
The day that we have dreaded
Is almost here

I am unable to concentrate
My heart is beating so fast
So many things running thru my mind
How much longer will this last

I close my eyes
To hide my tears
I am trying so hard
To control my fears

Yet another hour has past
The sun will soon be up
I haven't even touched
The coffee in my cup

What will we find out
What will we do
If another chance
Is not given to you

A part of me will die
It will be so hard to go on
I just want to go and hide
And be left all alone

Before I finally get up
There is one thing that I must do
I get on my knees once again
And say another pray for you

The clock keeps getting louder
As the time ticks away
I must make myself get up
And go face this dreaded day

When the decision is made
Good, bad, right or wrong
We will have to face what is told to us
And with our lives carry on.

Your poetry is a lovely example
To teach how to write poetry
You have remarkably penned
A very fine poem with talent

Your poem is a pleasure to read
It gives immense ideas to mind
I must call it a beauty really
Keep it up my dear and excel
