The white caps of the waves in the river
Remind me of the snow in my heart.
Your ever so cold love put the tears in my eyes that fell hard on my heart.
Your convenient for you love, only loving me when wanting me, has torn me apart.
Your disregard for me.
Your disbelief in me.
Your one-sided love for me.
Has all left me cold and empty. Empty and cold.
It was you who put the snow in my heart.
Your ever so cold love has frozen my heart and frosted over my soul.
Your condescending love is welcome here no more – I have a new goal.
I am leaving for the warmth now.
I am on the move now.
No need to follow now.
There is no turning back now.
Your disregard for me.
Your disbelief in me.
Your one-sided love for me.
Has all left me cold and empty. Empty and cold.
I am leaving for the warmth now.
The echoes of true love are defrosting my heart.
Soon we will be worlds apart.
The warming of my soul is leading me to
new places
and new faces.
I am on the move now.
No need to follow now.
There is no turning back now.
My new love now is my true love now.
My heart is warm and my soul comforted.
And I thank you, my new love
For putting the sunshine in my heart.
I love you my new love
with pure love as my art.
I'ld be a fool to turn back now.
There is no desire to turn back now.
No desire to turn back now.
No turning back now.

It's good that you know you have to move on "into the warmth," but remember that love, aka warmth, is meant to be spread, and even as you let the person who hurt you know that you won't let them drag you back down, also let them know that you don't hate them, or you might just take YOURSELF back down into the cold. I've had a similar experience to this one, and trust me, the sign of maturity is forgiving. It's something I'm still trying to work on, but with God's help I'm improving. |
