Shattered Glass

I don't know who that girl is,
staring back at me in the mirror.
Her face is blank,
but her blue eyes are filled with wild emotions.
Her eyes see into my soul,
seeing what I see,
feeling what I feel.
Tears spill from her sparkling blue eyes,
her face still blank.
I reach out,
stroking her cheek,
and she does the same.
I drop my hand,
and make a fist,
bringing it forward and shattering the glass.
Now I see the girl that is me.
The girl that is lost,
and confused,
and shattered.
That girl is a part of me,
and always will be.
The girl that is shattered,
just like the glass.

| I can relate - been there - might still be there :) I recently thought to myself.... my life is like a 1,000 layer cake... and only I know what most of those layers taste like, or more so feel like - the same idea can be "reflected" in all those cracks in the mirror... try not to give up - I know I'm trying! |
