People watching

Contributed by puppy_dog_eyes on Saturday, 2nd June 2012 @ 04:26:57 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Cofee sipped in cafe haunts gives pastime to the afternoon
Tinted lense is voyeurs tool, anonymity and shield
Crowds of gathered people become feast to curiosity
Through a window the vicinity becomes the centre stage

Everything here in the melting pot,all religions and race
Arguments over petty things, before your eyes a lover's tiff
Too long a stare at passing blonde, one smile returned to damn
Accusations rain like bullets, guilty of nothing yet everything

Faces contemplate the world, in the thought pool of dark coffee
Stir away troubles with a spoonful of sugar
Expressions paint pictures more than words ever could
Body language clear, when the spoken word misleads

Too often the outward looks inward, closes in on self
Slaves to our own preoccupation, haunted by our past
Staring at others, wishing to be more ike them
Assuming that their lives are blessed by carefree inner peace

Day runs almost slumbering, clouds cross sky unhurried
Paralleling lovers eyes seek energy within
Gazes fall upon someone looking wistful at the distance
Perhaps someone, somewhere, is also doing it to you

Hello my friend good to see you writing again, I love people watching and love the concept of contemplation in pools of dark coffee.I meandered with you exploring self doubt, reflection of our own lives alongside what we perceive is the life of others and love the challenging conclusion that maybe someone else is seeing you in a way you don't think they would,As alway writing with depth, senstiivity, warmth of humanity, and challenging perceptions.

Hi,

And have we not all done this! Reflections,
assumptions, and even judgements - and
what better place to indulge ourselves than
a crowded cafe.

An excellent piece, full of bright observations
and eloquent descriptions.

Tommy

Excellent poem revealing deep insight into human psyche.
Brilliant line is"

"Slaves to our own preoccupation"

Yes, Slaves - but idle slaves I wonder if they would attempt to get out of Slavery.

Great composition, dealt with with sensitivy and delicacy., and - Charity

Blessings
Elizabeth
