Locked Inside

Contributed by Elia on Friday, 1st June 2012 @ 03:43:15 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

There are so many things I want to express, my perfectionist inside will not allow.

It must be flawlessly worded and phrased, But I simply do not know how.

Lock inside, my true feelings hidden, missing words are to fault,

They are concealed deep in my mind, which hold them like a vault.

Fear of miscommunication or misunderstanding keeps me subdued,

I desire to express myself, but my thoughts isolate and seclude

Someday to be intrepid instead of timid, I must admit,

This I hope will eradicate my self-judgment, and be my permit.

To allow myself to be untied and finally be set free,

I am saddened to say that my only obstacle in this journey is me.

More often than not it is ourselves that stand in the way of us living life and you have eloquently expressed this, thankfully writing is a great medium to unlock all that is inside and the braver you are to bleeding your heart onto the page then there is the difference between good and amazing writing,

Well, you may have the ability to rhyme, but i cant say you have a proper understanding how to write poetry. This may sound a little harsh, but believe me, an artist has to face criticism in order to improve their work.
As for now, this seem to be taken from a diary. Poetry, i mean, good poetry shouldnt be this obvious. You have to find words - keys to hide the meaning. Good luck :)

What Anna said (northernlights). This takes courage.

Keep up the good work

I'll PM you the rest.

Take care,

Tim
