What is church really about these days?

Dear father forgive me for the things I’m about to say
But it’s just how feel today
What is a Christian do we really know?
It’s got to be more than going to a church show
Where everyone comes to show off their new clothes
And where others turn up their nose
Acting like they are so much better than me
Help me understand lord open my mind’s eye so i can see
And my ears so i can hear and learn how my soul can be free
cos i have been to church and couldn’t hear what the preacher was saying
So i just come to you in my home, that’s where i do my praying
I don’t want to go somewhere and be judged, being stared at cos I’m new
I just want to soak of the word and get closer to you
But church these days
Is so much more than about praise
It’s just a fashion show and about who is putting the most money in the purse
Cos most days the preaches pay themselves first
Driving fancy cars and wearing Taylor made suits, church paying his rent
Like he heaven sent
Twisting your words to soot his own self absorb needs
Then tell his flock it’s your word he heeds
How can that be when he is using your house of worship to gain fame?
And then when it falls apart the devil gets the blame
And though that is very well true
The devil gave him a hand that he consciously walked right into
Knowing full well that it was wrong
cos he found it easier and more pleasurable to be weak and not strong
I’m disgusted at the grandness of all this
Preachers comparing church sizes to see which will stand the tallest
The bible says come as you are, and when i go that’s what i do
Cos i know that i don’t have to have on new clothes to love and follow you
So my prayer is for those preaches who use your words to feel some type of power
That they realize that all they are doing now will be remembered in the judgment our
And there is no hiding and no lying their way out of the wrong they have done
Because in the end Satan can save absolutely no one
We were born in to a sinful imperfect world and most of us know
That love and not money is the way to go
Money is to help us sustain our basic needs
And anything more grander is simply greed
I pray for the children and the ones who are truly lost in some way and don’t know
That this world is nothing but Satan’s reality show
For those who are standing in line waiting to get on that false money train
Father let them know there is nothing to gain
Everything with Satan is lies and illusion
Nothing but chaos and confusion
My prayer is that they open their eyes and ears and change their way
And i pray it’s before judgment day

I was just thinking of all the chaos in the churches today, the deception and lies
My prayer is that people get back to teaching the word, and spreading your
Love and message.

| I was brought up in the church and i broke away for many of the reasons you have underlined,I am going to stick my neck out now and say not only do I agree with your opinions of the christian church but I would suggest that most faiths have come far away from their humble beginnings and are now man made religions.I hope more like you have the guts to shed light on the reality. |

It's quite ironic to read this as only the other day, my father and mother in law who are regular churchgoers were saying how much there local church has now become full of the very people you have described.
I suppose even religion is no longer sacred you might say.

Hi,
Much to ponder here. Didn't Jesus say .....
'The kingdom of heaven/God is within you.'' In
this singular phrase it says nothing about
churches or temples. The derivatory meaning
of 'Church' means 'Place where the Lord can
be found.' Surely then if we follow His
teachings the Lord can be found in our homes,
the places where we work, and in the streets
we walk. And from that one line teaching
maxim, churches are unnecessary.
Food for thought.
