Lingering thoughts of you
Interrupted eye contact
That smile catching me by surprise
And proving my doubts are fact
That ever elusive kiss
That bittersweet tension in the air
Those brief touches we both pretend to ignore
I will ignore them no more
****
It’s not sleep that I’m losing
But instead
It’s all those waking moments
With you dancing around in my head
Not that I’m trying to get you out
No, not at all
Cuz I have enjoyed the fall
This is way past that stage of fear
I can hold you when you’re gone
I even miss you when you’re here
****
My dear
I can see you feel the same
I can hear it loud and clear
Am I wrong?
Did you not see me in that sunset up north
While we texted back and forth?
Is it heartbreak you’re afraid of?
It’s alright, I’m afraid too
But that won’t keep me from chasing you
As long as we make an eternal vow
To take what we’re given now
Hold my hand and worry about nothing
Because you’ll always have me
And I’ll always have you dancing around in my head
And we’ll always have pillow time
And that sunset with and without you
And maybe even a sunrise or two

Nice work, I can feel the emotion in what you have written.
I think we've all had those moments where, despite knowing we need to sleep, the urge to put our thoughts onto paper just overcomes us.
It is never a bad thing to pour out our thoughts and get them down as they come to us.
