life is in the eye of the beholder

Topic: drugabuse

There bent old twisted frail trees,
Which has lost the dead shrievled crispy leaves,
and are bare, cold, dark and dull
like lifeless bodies which hold no soul.

You feel the breeze sharp chill you face,
Living is not in such a place,
When the life has left all that surrounds,
and your naked laying on the ground,
covered in filth from head to toe
not wondering whether to come or go,

You stop and take one deep breath,
and begin to forget about of the rest,
and remember that your still alive,
and can continue on with all your pride.

Dig deep and look within your soul,
there's more to life that what you know
Look past all the darkest times,
and surely then you'll see the sign.

There is always more than the eye can see,
and better things will always be,
So look out for the sprouting green grass,
Listen out for those friendly laughs.

The sun will so shine once again,
And cold and alone will be no more my friend,
Your life is the way you make it be,
So release the love and begin to feel,
All the blessings that are by your side,
And don't take for granted your precious life

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
