Mini Painters Lament

Contributed by lee6787 on Friday, 25th May 2012 @ 10:05:16 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Painting nothing making nothing only adding
A form escapes me yet sits with in my hand
Unmoving unwavering as endless as any metal
Giving me nothing to leave behind worth anything more than my patience and time
Things long since lost and of little use that is my passion
It shall go unnoticed it shall not sit in a museum and I shall hence go forth

Thank you:)

i don't know what rivers ran through your mind when you wrote your poem. Here's what ran through mine.......

I was washed with the memory of working in factories and knowing that nobody would ever notice the part that i played. The cog that was shaped by me. The processed lips and chins, amongst other crap, that i had just blown through a machine to create a ham joint, ready to be sliced and swallowed without question.

Then i was off to ponder how footballer's get paid millions for kicking, what used to be a pig's bladder, up and down a field.

Then i thought about bankers, celebrities, vanity and greed.

I came away with a sense that poetry can only ever be pure when money and ego are removed.

I enjoyed your poem. It made me think.

Thank you for writing and posting it:)

So very true. But still one tries. Talent, what is that?
My daughter just does, only just turned ten. Doesn't care who looks, or, most times prefers nobody will.
We're all mini for the most part. This poem is like a toy.

I see torn frustration and honestly the oh well I'm not ashamed to admit.

Thanks!

Peace!
