Resilience

* * * *

I was the tree that buckled and bowed
to the rage of a savage storm.
I was the deer who trembled with fear
at the mercy of human form.

Then the storm clouds broke and yielded to light
and I was the tree that strained
for a gentle breeze to caress my leaves
and nurture the limbs that pained.

Stars in profusion through yesterday's shadows,
my brighter tomorrows, enhancing.
Fear is the fool that courage will rule
when the stars and I are dancing!

I'm obviously not Catherine and I think this is beautiful. To Catherine I am sure it is priceless.

Fantastic example of the craft of poetry, the kind that always inspires me to get out my pen and write some more myself.
Glad to know your friend is a fighter

You've given honor that is endearing to someone special to your heart. Catastrophe upon a life rooted with a strong has survived and will surely be strengthened beyond expectation.
Your care is touching.
