simple state of mind

to try to find a rhyme
just one place to begin
a shelf thats in my mind
known as the voice within

creating different settings
like the making of a card
one that touches someone
is really not to hard

breathing life into my words
hoping that someone will see
they may not all be facts
but they are reality

the reality is mine
in what I choose to write
rather simply put together
or trying with all my might

either way it's what I choose
& the way I like to start
it's the only way I understand
what stays within my heart

only my heart know's
what it feels at different times
it processes thought's to make some since
then sends it to my mind

my mind then feeds my fingertips
a simple page display
that's 20 lines or better
to say what I need to say

this is the way I see it
a state of mind I fall into
it may not be the right way
but this is just what I do
the hot shot poet
