Dewdrops kissing
stalks and leaves
can cleanse the depths
of souls that grieve;
a blackbird singing
inspiration
will rouse the heart
to celebration;
and marigolds in
sultry blaze
can vanquish gloom
on cloudy days.
But in our concrete
conurbations,
urgent minds on
dull flirtations;
forgetting Nature
light and space,
our healing well
our saving grace.

Pull up the trees and put up a parking lot
Sorta reminded me of that.
The awestruck of nature does get lost in the concrete world, does it not?
Sometimes the shortest poems are the best, especially when well put like this one!
Thank you.

Touchstone.......a test of the quality of something,well noone needs to test the quality of this poetry from the master.There are words on a page and then there is poetry that just makes you sigh with the way it's so beautifully expressed and the wonderful meaning you can see easily connect with and identify with. Just beautiful Tommy xx |

A lovely poem. Concrete jungles are such poor substitutes for the real thing. |

I often do not read rhyming poetry. But yours locked me in and I'm glad we can find each other in our difference.
