Stalker

Contributed by autumnlady on Tuesday, 15th May 2012 @ 07:38:36 AM in AEST
Topic: surreal

Miss Channing was watching him from her window;
She had been doing this for weeks now, but he didn’t know;
He wasn’t even aware that she lived on the opposite side of the lane;
And was the owner of the fawn-colored Great Dane;
Maybe she’s a spy – or works for the FBI;
But then probably not, because the subject of her interest is just an ordinary guy;
She knows everything about him and what he does;
What could she possibly want from a guy who doesn’t even seem dangerous?
His life is monotonous – day in, day out, the same routine;
Struggling hard to pay his bills on time by working as an accountant in a school canteen;
She was there in the supermarket, watching him from the corner;
If only he had turned around, he would have seen her;
She was the lady in the black leather dress, behind the Roberto Cavalli shades;
Her neighbors hardly know much about her;
Some say she’s probably a private investigator;
This lady was classy from her head to her toe;
She wore only designer clothes – and preferred Valentino;
She has an obsession for a particular plant species – Venus fly traps and pitcher plants;
She once said that she always gets what she wants;
Indeed, if he ever goes missing;
Then who else may know his whereabouts but Miss Channing.

Love it! Way to paint the picture. This is one where it was so well-written that I heard a specific voice reading the words to me, instead of playing them through my tone in my head. Well done.

I'm so glad Ms. Channing doesn't reside in my neighborhood.

*shudders*

Thank you for an enjoyable read.

Tim
