They've gone on to be
so big and bright
to shine so highly
without a light
and here they come
with their victory wreaths
waving them like the rugs
pulled from beneath their feet
They've gone on to be
all of the things that
disgrace you and me
For our own good
They have started to
Reduce the things
That make up me and you
and here they come
with their victory wreaths
waving them like the rugs
pulled from beneath their feet
All in the name
To save our fame
Can we ever be
Saved from them?
Or only shamed
Can we wave
a different flag
Or only rags?
Or do we
wave our victory wreaths
like the rugs
that have been pulled
from beneath our feet?

Reminded me of a verse in the Bible. About building upon sand and the rains came down and the fall of the house was great. |
