Many Shades Ago

There was a time
where the blessed mind
navigated boundless exploration,
and then it climbed
into a ravine
and got trapped
like a festering curse.
Brilliantly multicoloured kites
criss-crossed against
a bright, ecclectic sky
like a kaliedoscope
peering into psychedelic fantasies.
Then a sizzle, crack and flash
of lightning
plunging feather-light and wispy fabric
into a shadowy valley
where all we can see
are the sun and moon
moving overhead
from white to many shades of dark,
while we hunker down,
confined to a tiny prism.

I don't know how to express my admiration for this poem.
I don't know, but it's got me hooked.
Cheers,
Mickey. |
