My daughter's wrong dress day OMG

Contributed by thehotshotpoet on Friday, 11th May 2012 @ 08:25:55 AM in AEST
Topic: toughstuff

another day in paradise
as I sit here with this grin
I'm gonna turn this into a poem
so I think I should begin

my daughter came up to me
wearing a pretty black dress
she said mom said I can wear this
as I sat their unimpressed

so I sat their for a moment
wondered how to make her see
if one boy makes the wrong comment
it hurts her pride & dignity

so I say your only fourteen
the dress is pretty but way to much
it will give the wrong impression
to the faculty & such

well that quickly she got mad
& stormed back threw the house
so much for being peaceful
or quite as a mouse

I feel I'm defending her honor
trying to protect her pride
the dress was to revealing
in ways you cannot hide

so I tried to explain to her
that she is moving way to fast
she jumped up very mad at me
& said you just like being an ass

I just said you're right dear
the best job I've ever had
now get up & change your clothes
because I am still the dad
the hot shot poet
