if I could have a best friend
& a soul mate all in one
my prayers would be answered
before the day was done

& if you believe in miracles
the way that I do
you'd know I found my soul mate
& my best friend in you

The only one who understands
the way I feel inside
you are my very heart & soul
The keeper of my pride

you give me the love I need
you stand by me all the time
it's no wonder that I need you
I'm so grateful that you're mine

so close your eyes & see me
my arms around you all the way
you will always be my soul mate
& I love you just this way
the hot shot poet
