Love is a curse for me to bare.
It spreads weakness throughout my soul.
If you could only see through my stare,
would you ease the pain of my heart you stole
I feel the emptiness expand within me
Consuming the bright light I once held
Such a love holds such as a substancial fee
Now I must play the broken hand i've been dealt
These days I wish for an indifference to come
May it take away such intense feeling
A battle of demons that can never be won
I pray for the strength to induce my healing
Pain is addicting when you have nothing else
An emotion to cling to when all is hollow
Like a lonely doll collecting dust on a shelf
So much confusion with no reason to follow
The worst of the knowing is mine
A reality that this discomfort is my fault
I held false hope for a love so devine
How can I seal my heart back in it's vault
Never again will I allow these to trespass
A heart can only be broken into so many peices
The infractions on my being are countless
I will find my way once the chaos ceases
I feel as if I am prone to being masochistic
A pattern my past has surely shown
I struggle to be practical and realistic
Swimming, drowning in the emotions I am prone
I hate so much the love I have for you
Even with all of the things considered
The lines I had drawn are all askew
And I fight with how not to be bitter
The one thing that gives me hope and courage
is knowing the arsenal I am building
Saving my energy to rise up and flourish
A power no one will see me yielding
