Although you’re gone –
You had to depart –
You still reside
In my soul and heart:
You’re a whisper
That’ll keep me sane
And teach me how
To live once again;
You’re a belief
That’ll live within me
To strengthen my soul
And set my heart free;
As a memory
You’ll make me smile
And lift me up
In every trial.
Though you’re gone
I know I’ll be alright,
For you are as real
As these words I write.
