~ * ~
Miles of open water, glistening like eyes fixed on the spark of a flame
spreading out across endless anticipation
a preoccupation of conceived conception,
though it would hardly be the sweet intoxication that
sleepless nights with an ear pressed to a phone had awakened
voracious necessity swelled
and thoughts of having someone to stay up with
circled in the air leaving traces of colour
and fuelled the appetite that
infiltrated the iron doors beneath my breast
the attitude of circumstance warmed the soul
as a cloudless sky, mid-summer
but with no warning cry of bird nor man
the air swarmed with an angry black surge of mist and thunder
filling the vault of desperation with antipathy
you ...
disappear
leaving only the confusion and regret
indigenous to indifference in your wake
and as your appeasing last words
search for explanation behind your cowardice,
time forgives ...
but it moves too slow .....

*takes the first two lines of the second stanza and claims them as his own* :p
I'm not sure if time moves too slow are altogether stops sometimes, even with a feeling of going backwards to the beginning. Meh! :(
I got so much more to say but I looked up at the clock and realized I gotta get going. Stupid work! ;-)
Leaves with the feeling he never wants to be in a relationship again.
Awesome poems as usual from you ...as if a memory.
Buh bye for now.

" The air swarmed with an angry black surge of mist and thunder" I hate to pick just one line but I love that one. Mist and thunder are two of my favorite things. Sorry so short but must go. Excellent as always , truly , Doug |

Brilliant! Flowing, eloquent, and moving! I especially loved the second stanza! So true as well... time often does move too slow, and when forgiveness does come, it is often too late. Such is life. |
