My Line in the Sand

Contributed by tck on Monday, 23rd April 2012 @ 02:40:53 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

This is my line in the sand/ this is where I stand
Here is where I or my demons fall/ can't run anymore my back's against this wall
Of shattered hopes/ that I've built for myself
I'm on the ropes/ I'm all alone/ It's me and no one else
Only I can make these demons fall/ I'm trying to run this race but I can't even make myself crawl/
Trying to save my world when I can't even save my own soul/ Im trying to act this part
But I don't even know the role
I refuse to give up/ my strength's not enough/ they tell me to move but they don't understand
Here is where my demons fall
Here is my line in the sand
The world can laugh if it wants/ why should I care? But now I'm fighting back/ tired of living scared
There's a herse on this street rolling up to my door
But they won't silence me this time, I have a voice and I refuse to be ignored
It's time to fight back against these demons that enslave me
They tell me I'm alone but I'm not biting that line
I've been sleeping in darkness but now it's time to rise and shine
I can't fight this alone but I don't have to anymore cause I'm taking God's hand/ this is where where our demons fall/ this is where I stop running/
this is my line in the sand

That was beautiful. I'm glad there was a time where there was a point of realization to over-come. From personal experience of struggling I know the feeling when your about to fall. Wonderful write and I'm so glad you shared and found some strength in faith and in yourself.
Best wishes,
Shae

Heartfelt expression of a highly sensitive mind.
Depression's grip can make it seem a person
is worthless but it lies. Robert Burns said it best
'give us the gift to see ourselves as others see us'
From personal experience it can be a revelation to actually find out. Keep writing and cast those demons away

take care

Wow this is really good. I can definitely understand what you went through. I have also gone through similar struggles. Keep it up.
