It seems so long ago

Contributed by shelby on Saturday, 21st April 2012 @ 02:18:32 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

This city seems still tonight.
Darkness and shadows.
Silence is golden, almost spooks me
thoughts drift in the calm.

Life has changed so much
from then until now.
Even the minutes seem different
it seems impossible, how??

Life has changed all around
and at times it's taken a toll.
I sift through the moments of before
and look at what has become, now.

It churns inside my soul
as the threads all now seem so frail.
Holding onto the the things of before
that all seem to just now be passing ghosts.

Reality at times strikes one hard
like a hard stinging slap aside the face.
Bending one down to their knees
as soft tears of surrender slide down your face.

Embrace the moments right now
trying to focus on the new things to come.
Grasping to hope by the tail
while at the same time peacefully coming undone.

It seems so long ago........ oh how so many things have changed
hold it together right now,
Enjoy the blessings as they slowly come.
Life is so fragile
hold onto each thread.

Magnificent. !
I can identify so much with every line with such intensity that finds no words.

Hold on to the threats that may be more powerful than we imagine.
Blessings
Love and peace

Sometimes the fragility of life becomes all too tangible, a condition I think of the middle years,I can feel the uncertainty and the angst. Pivotal line for me .....grasping to hope by the tail.....empathic writing to bring recognition connection and healing.

My threads are tattered, worn, and thin though. :p

Excellent writing. I like the way positivity and and some melancholy are woven together.

Thank you,

Tim

I've missed visiting your page. You

Wow. A wonderfully woven, winding wistful write.
You can tell you've been there. Along the path that sharpens our meaning. It's a lonely grind and an infinite source of inspiration. All at the same time.
Thanks for sharing:)
