My fear was frozen

I've been writing about my kids
overlooking part of my life
somehow I thought I was doing right
I'd forgot about my wife
my daughter ran in & said mom fell
I scrambled through the house
she was unconscious on the floor
as quiet as a mouse
I quickly dropped beside her
I checked her breathing & vital signs
then I called an ambulance
before I lost my mind
she laid there motionless
dispatch said whats she doin this minute
I said not to much shes unconscious
if I had an ambulance she'd be in it
she went to the doctor 2 days ago
when she came home she was crying
she did not stop till 10 that night
the fear was undenying
she never did answer me
her expressions told a story
I may be all that read it
but so far there is no glory
now she's asking to do a living will
that caught me very wrong
I ask why would you need that
she just said I don't have very long
I'm confused with the answers
determination will take pay its price
for the love of my wife
I'll take any sacrifice

Well written and so sad. It is hard to deal with a serious illness of a spouse, I know. I really dont know what to say....
