Traveling

Topic: Lifepoems

To travel around the world
seeing many things with these eyes
Traveling around the world,
my, how time flies.

By bus or by plane
never taken a boat anywhere
That really doesn’t matter,
as I have many stories to share.

This place, that place
just so many places to see.
The places I have traveled
have all been wonderful to me.

Nineteen countries
fifty four states across U.S. soil
My favorite place is Florida
even if the sun makes my skin broil.

Along with traveling
comes friends to be made
In return are memories
some that will never fade.

I started as a young boy
with no limits or a plan.
Just wandered off
to another state or a foreign land.

Some people that knew me
told me I would go nowhere.
At the age of nineteen I left
with nothing to spare.

I have no regrets
no more pains from my past
The medicine of travel
gave me memories to last.

So, if you’re young or old
and you want to get away.
Just listen to your heart
and travel, taking it day by day.

I am thankful
for some of the decisions I have made in the past
I am very thankful for all my friends
the numbers are so vast!

i wish i could be half as carefree as you seem to be, i wish that it was that easy for me. i envy that and maybe one day i will feel the freedom of just letting go and being me, i find it inspiring and and attainable. and for now i can hope and be glad for someone like you..

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
