Loving Daughter Of The Bride

Contributed by ShadowsCloud on Wednesday, 7th May 2003 @ 09:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Tributes

For as long as I can remember,
It's been just you and me.
For the longest time it seemed,
That was how it was meant to be.

But as I grew up I realized,
Even though you love me so;
There seemed to be something missing,
Things weren't so perfect for this duo.

After relationships past not going so well,
In search for your lifelong partner.
Last May you found the perfect guy,
Who was well liked, even by your daughter.

Mom, your big day is finally here,
It's great to see you so happy.
My best wishes to you,
For I love you dearly.

I've sat here all my life,
And saw you take it all in stride.
Looking at you I know; I'll make it too,
I'm the loving daughter of the bride.

Hey Candice,
I thought this was a lovely poem/tribute to your Mom when you posted its original version, this one you've done is a little more refined in parts but the message was so strong that it could never be changed!
It's lovely and I'm sure your Mom will think so also.

With love
Dean:-)

Dean,
I am glad that you like it. My mom has always liked everything that I have ever written, but I really hope that she likes this. This is really the only poem that I have written that is just for her. Thank you for your comment.

What a sweet poem :o) It can be hard when a single parent marries, but it's nice to see that you're happy for her xx Great poem.
