NIGHT TRAIN CHAIN GANG

Contributed by robert_edgar_burns on Tuesday, 17th April 2012 @ 06:55:33 AM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

Photobucket

RoseMarie and Rosella,
Asked for pictures of my face.
Buzzards fly when I am near them
With one wing covering their whole face.

They sent my photos back to me
With a lot of postage due.
They asked " did you think that either of us
Would lick stamps for a mug like you?"

And then our good friend Stella
Who writes poetry all night like us,
Said she'd pay for my vacation,
If I rode a prison bus.

Another friend name of Shirley,
Took my passport to throw away.
She said if I travel to foreign soils,
We'd have new enemies that very day!

So I sit in the dark while I’m composing
On the notepad of my I-Phone.
I cannot go inside the residence,
I'm much to ugly for my own home.

Two others named Mary and Teri,
Hired Don Rickles to cheer me up.
He took one look and said to me,
“You're as ugly as a basset hound pup.”

That was the kindest thing I've ever heard,
Until our friend Marvin said to me,
"I saw your picture in the news,
But don't fruit rats live out in trees?"
