Paper Hearts Were Meant To Burn

Contributed by fallensilence on Wednesday, 7th May 2003 @ 04:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

im weak, too slow, not dumb, but not smart
this life has succeeded in tearing me apart
a thousand pieces lying lifeless on a bloody floor

paper hearts were meant to burn
broken souls will always yearn
golden lungs were meant to starve
bleeding eyes will never cry

there is always the desire
a sort of burning in my mouth
that is numbed by my mind and hidden in a cloud
im so sensitive that i'm almost numb
i am a single wave in a turbulent ocean
nothing at all.
always ready and willing to fall

there is only winter to look forward to.
